Rewrite 5/2 as a mixed number. 1 3/5 1 3/2 2 1/2 2/5

What did you get for this problem?

Mercury:

old question but will respond to help out future users 5/2 first, we figure out how many times 2 goes into 5. 2 goes into 5 twice (2*2 = 4, if you try 2*3 you get 6 which goes over) so we remove 2 from the numerator, leaving us with 2 + (the leftover fraction) to find the leftover fraction, simply subtract 5/2, minus the (2*2)/2 we removed from before.
