Read the passage from “The Caged Bird.” But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing. The last line in this stanza indicates a tone of________ A. Acceptance B. Jealousy C. Peacefulness D. Desperation

Elsa213:

Haii theree <3 What do you believe the correct? o:

CourtneyWatson:

A?

Elsa213:

Hrmm @umm o:

Elsa213:

I know it’s not the second or third choice. A bird without freedom would be desperate to get out, I think. However, acceptance might also be right because the bird realizes it’s freedom was taken away and can’t do anything anymore.

Elsa213:

The first choice might be correct since they use the word `sing` rather than `scream` or something showing desperation.

CourtneyWatson:

Ok I agree with you I'm going to choose A thank you for helping :)

Elsa213:

Ofc. <3
