system of equations

payton:

what is it?

ramen:

Like what is a system of equations?

payton:

yeah like what is the process if there is one

carmelle:

System of Equations: Collection of two or more equations

ramen:

Its just literally a set of equations

ramen:

like y=4x+1 and y=5x+69 are a system of equations.

payton:

oh i thought there would have been other parts to it

payton:

so like if you were finding the solution of it what would you do?

carmelle:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @payton so like if you were finding the solution of it what would you do? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) solve for the variable

payton:

kk

ramen:

yep which is the solution to the system of equations

carmelle:

yea

payton:

so like this What is the solution to the following system of equations? 4x + 2y = 12 x − y = 3

payton:

(x,y)

carmelle:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @payton so like this What is the solution to the following system of equations? 4x + 2y = 12 x − y = 3 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) so basically u would solve for x and y, I think o-o

ramen:

Well you can choose to graph it and where they cross is the solution.

justus:

4x + 2y =12 -4x+2y=-12

justus:

0 + 6y =0

ramen:

Or you can do the super annoying elimination process or substitution thingy

justus:

y=0

ramen:

Like justus is doing

justus:

x-0=3

justus:

x=3

justus:

appropriate solution would be (3,0)

ramen:

yep

payton:

okay i forgot how that worked

payton:

i thought it would be the same as simplifying the equation

ramen:

simplifying would just be making it into y=mx+b but not actually solving for the system.

payton:

cuz i have a question on it i need help with

ramen:

ight bet
