darkknight:

The value of a professional basketball player's autograph rose 30% in the last year. It is now worth $299.00. What was it worth a year ago? So basically if the autograph rose 30% in one year. 299% is 130% of what it was last year. Now 130% is the same as 1.3 So if you take $299 and divide by 1.3 you will get your answer \[$299/1.3\]

darkknight:

So what is your answer?

Ari1234442:

230 that makes sense thanks

darkknight:

Yep, correct. And you can reverse check this. If $230 is the original, does 230 times 1.3 equal 299? That is a good way to double check yourself And have a good day, be sure to click on the best response button also (up to you though) :)
