How many chapters are too many for a book?
It's never too many.
But how many would be good?
Hmmm
Good question ..
24
Depends on what book it is.
well that to
Huh?
What is your book about?
is could be a children's book, a college book, a regular book, etc.
then after we know that we determine the right amount of chapters appropriate for the book.
Right, right, its going to be somewhat of a horror-mystery I guess
Ah I see
Ok so maybe 24 to 30
I think you can see what's suitable
if it's your book
I am writing a adventure book and I going maybe 30 chapters or less
Holy hell, do you know how many words 30 chapters would be?
Just saying
that's nice I wish you the best of luck
Well adventure and romance
Alot
how many pages would each chapter be?
Each chapter has to be at least 5000 words
Oh okay
Good for you
Mhm, I'm almost at 10000 words~
you way ahead of me
Wow, that's pretty impressive.
Both of you are writing books?
I am stuck at the wedding scene
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Shadow Wow, that's pretty impressive. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) I agree
It's nice to start out with a general idea of how many chapters, but you don't need to stick to that #. Let the book evolve as you write.
To be fair, I'm not actually writing a book that'll be published. Maybe one day but not now
totally understandable.
Yeah I writing it just for fun
Yep
Same
I didnt even think money
Nice mindset.

What made you want to write a book?
Me?
Yes
Now really sure, I've been writing stories since I was in 4th grade so I've always been kinda drawn to writing
Ah good to hear...
I think if you practice writing you will improve a lot, just put your heart into it.
Makes sense
Alright, good luck!
Thank you :)
Of course. :)
Ask the author of Moby Pie
SMH
LOL
I won't let this defeat me
Sorry, what?
You'll see in a minute
Uh, alright
Should I be worried?
about what?
I dunno
Sorry
Holy hell thats a lot of chapters
|dw:1606292111156:dw| I was saying to ask the author of this book
135 chapters is a little too much
There's no rule book on how many chapters to write.
Fair fair
But I'm not really up to the task of writing 135 chapters
Especially when the chapters are 5000 words each
According to the internet the average novel has about 12 chapters. So perhaps that is a reachable goal you can set for yourself.
Thank you, that actually makes a lot of sense
You should keep writing until you think you have written to your best ability, and then once you're done, divide the book into chapters. Be sure to mark important breaks in your story(aka new chapter marks). Let your chapters be diverse and some may not be the same length.
Well, I definitely hadn't thought of doing it like that. I've been marking the chapters as I come up with changes in the story
That's what Herman Melville probably did
I write a lot, and I usually do this method, it makes the story more personal and more "real" in a way. More unexpected if you will.
Sorry, I'm back, and thanks I'll definitely have to use that tip
