Drawing upon ideas from the Articles of Confederation, the _______________ called for a one-house legislature in which each state, regardless of size, would have one vote. Virginia Plan New Jersey Plan Great Compromise Connecticut Plan

mxddi3:

hmm, ok as we talked yesterday about the New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan a bit and we know that the Great Compromise was created as a way to appease both sides, so we can eliminate Great Compromise

sealake101:

ok

mxddi3:

ok wait, what do you even know about the answer choices? do you know what each of them were

sealake101:

the Virginia plan didn't that like want to make the different branches?

mxddi3:

ok so the Virginia and New jersey plans had to do with representation in congress. yes, Madison's Virginia Plan outlined a government with the different branches. also, we are eliminating option D because it is the same as option C, they're interchangeable. now if the virginia plan had proposed different branches, would it be unicameral ?

sealake101:

yeah i think

mxddi3:

ok so if it is unicameral, it is a one house legislature. now if the virginia plan called for multiple branches, it would not have been a one house party system. do yk anything about the new jersey plan?

sealake101:

to make the smaller states have like the same amount of power as the bigger states

mxddi3:

yes!!!! exactly. they wanted all states to get equal representation by getting ONE vote each. now i kinda just gave it away, but....is it gonna be a or b?

sealake101:

b

mxddi3:

good job :)

sealake101:

thank you!

mxddi3:

yw!
