Choice D is incorrect. You'd use the HL (hypotenuse leg) theorem for that one. The HL theorem only applies to right triangles. The pair of congruent legs would be the sides with the single tickmark. This is the overlapping or shared sides. The pair of hypotenuse segments are congruent because of the tickmarks. Your teacher should have used another style of tickmark (say a double tickmark) to indicate the hypotenuse is not the same length as the leg.
