It's most likely asking to factor/simplify the first one cannot be simplified (cannot factor sum of squares) so I'll jump to the 2nd one the numerator is x^2 + 12x + 36. to factor this, since we have a coefficient of 1 on x^2, that makes things simpler. we find two integers that multipy to the c term 36, and add to the b term 12. this ends up being 6 and 6, so x^2 + 12x + 36 factors to (x+6)(x+6) which means you can cancel out one of the (x+6) terms I'll let the original asker try out the last problem for themselves (feel free to @ me if you need help or want to check your answer)
