Dylan2002:

A zucchini plant in Darnell’s garden was 10 centimeters tall when it was first planted. Since then, it has grown approximately 0.5 centimeter per day. a. Write a rule to describe the function. b. After how many days will the zucchini plant be 18.5 centimeters tall? h(d) = 10d + 0.5; 1.1 days h(d) = 0.5d + 10; 17 days h(d) = 0.5d; 37 days

anyways the plant is initially 10 centimeters tall, so that is our y-intercept It grows .5 cm a day, so that is our slope. We want to find when the zucchini plant is .185 meters tall, or 18.5 cm So if d(x)=.5d+10. You want to plug in 18.5 for h(d) to determine how many days (d) it will take for the plant to reach 18.5 cm
