RyleeWarren66:

On a coordinate grid, point P is at (1, 7) and point R is at (−2, −3). Points Q and S are a reflection of both points across the x-axis. What are the coordinates of Q and S? (1 point) Q(−1, 7), S(2, −3) Q(−1, −7), S(2, 3) Q(−1, 7), S(−2, 3) Q(1, −7), S(−2, 3)

jimthompson5910:

To reflect over the x axis, we use the rule \( (x,y) \to (x, -y)\) The x coordinate stays the same while the y coordinate flips from positive to negative, or vice versa. For example, the point (7,9) reflects over to (7, -9) Another example: (2, -3) moves to (2, 3) If point P is located at (1,7), then where does point P move after we reflect it over the x axis?

Where does P go after we reflect over the x axis?
