Let's say each side of that pentagon was x inches long There are 5 sides, so the perimeter is 5x We know the perimeter is given to be 20 This means 5x = 20 solves to x = 4 when we divide both sides by 5 Each side of the pentagon is 4 inches Once you know each side of the pentagon, you can find each rectangular area Area of rectangle = base*height = length*width After you know each lateral face area, you add up the individual areas to get the overall lateral surface area

Or as a shortcut, you could use the formula lateral surface area = (perimeter of base)*(height of prism)

Let me know what you get for the answer so I can check it. Or if you're stuck somewhere, then please let me know.
