There's certain ways on to do it. What actually helps most people is recognizing their senses and surroundings. The most common 5 is touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste. Commonly the 3 you can do to calm yourself is recognizing something you're touching, either with your feet or hands. So example, noticing/rubbing your feet on carpet. Second, sight. Notice and pick out things in your surroundings. Example, there's a ball (or toy, etc.) across the room, what colour is it and what size is it? Is it big, medium, or small? And finally hearing, what are some things you can hear in your surroundings? Focusing on small things can help you calm down and get you thinking on things that are surrounding you.
