alexisHales:

Given that a function, g, has a domain of -1 ≤ x ≤ 4 and a range of 0 ≤ g(x) ≤ 18 and that g(-1) = 2 and g(2) = 8, select the statement that could be true for g. g^(3)=18 g^(1)=-2 g^(5)=12 g^(2)=4

alexisHales:

please help T^T

darkknight:

wait... does it say g^3 or g(3)???

alexisHales:

oh yea the g(3)

alexisHales:

@darkknight can you still help me?

darkknight:

yes Given that a function, g, has a domain of -1 ≤ x ≤ 4 and a range of 0 ≤ g(x) ≤ 18 and that g(-1) = 2 and g(2) = 8, select the statement that could be true for g. g(3)=18 g(1)=-2 g(5)=12 g(2)=4 we already know that g(2) = 8, so g(2) can't equal 4. g(5) =12 is wrong also because 5 isn't within the domain. Now we are left with the top 2 answer choices. The 2nd one is also wrong because g(1) can't equal -2. This is because -2 is outside the range of g(x). So what are we left with?

alexisHales:

g(3)=18

alexisHales:

thank you!!!! <3

darkknight:

np, have a good day and also be sure to leave a medal (that's up to you though ;) have a good day.
