Well, let's see... Under the AoC, the states had a majority of power. They were under the King's ruling for quite some time and during that time, their rights were violated. The states made their own decisions and the national government didn't. At times,the government even had to ask the states for money... under the AoC, there was no judicial branch or courts. I'm assuming you could see what is wrong with that. Overall, the AoC didn't work because the federal government was just too weak to function in a way the states needed.
