Describe the characteristics of a recruitable cult member using specific examples.
Please do not copy-paste my response. In general, cults operate by offering potential recruits benefits that they're not getting from other places in their lives, with common examples being social support/attention/affection, financial support, a sense of purpose, a central ideology to follow, life advice, easy answers to life's hard questions, etc. As such, cults tend to look for people lacking these things. Thus, cults tend to target insecure people, socially-isolated people, depressed/emotionally vulnerable people, etc. It took me a while to find a specific examples of cult followers, but I found this website where specific people have shared their stories, and you'll find these characteristics in their stories http://cultresearch.org/women-share-real-life-horror-cult-survival-stories/ references: https://www.bustle.com/p/if-you-exhibit-these-9-personality-traits-youre-more-likely-to-join-a-cult-9432374 http://cultresearch.org/women-share-real-life-horror-cult-survival-stories/
