Well does the fraction 3/4 have a common denominator with 1/2? the denominator of 4 in 3/4 can't go down, it has to stay at 4 or go up when finding a common denominator.

We don't even have to do the problem, as we can see, 2 can go into 4 so the common denominator is 4. There is only 1 answer with the denominator 4
