hilgersava24:

Together, teammates Pedro and Ricky got 2667 base hits last season. Pedro had 275 more hits than Ricky. How many hits did each player have?

Kyky232:

Do you have an idea on how to get the answer?

hilgersava24:

I do not

hilgersava24:

I do not

Kyky232:

Okay! :)

hilgersava24:

Do you know how to solve it

hilgersava24:

Do you know how to solve it

Kyky232:

So basically, how I would solve this is divide 2667 by 2 because there are two players. Then you would subtract 275 from one of the halves to get Ricky's portion. In order to get Pedro's, you would add 275 to the other half that you got.

XxDeadxX:

2667 - 275

Kyky232:

Do these steps and come back :)

hilgersava24:

2392

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 2392 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) is this for Ricky?

hilgersava24:

Yes

Kyky232:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 Yes \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I got 1609 for Ricky...

hilgersava24:

I acttually think you are correct

hilgersava24:

Do you know the one for Pedro?

Kyky232:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 Do you know the one for Pedro? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) What did you get when you divided 2667 by 2?

hilgersava24:

1333.5

Kyky232:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 1333.5 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) I rounded up to 1334. Now subtract 275 from 1334. :)

hilgersava24:

1059

Kyky232:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 1059 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Yep!!

Thankyou so much!!!!

hilgersava24:

It says it was wrong

Kyky232:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 It says it was wrong \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Oh. Does it give you a reason or what we did wrong?

Kyky232:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 It says it was wrong \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) I'm really sorry...

hilgersava24:

It says it is this Remember that the number of base hits that Ricky had is the difference between the total number of base hits and the number of base hits that Pedro had. Please check your answer in the original problem.

hilgersava24:

Yea it says these are the real numbers: Pedro: 1483 and Ricky: 1199

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @hilgersava24 Yea it says these are the real numbers: Pedro: 1483 and Ricky: 1199 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) hmm... I don't know how they got those answers. Maybe someone else can explain it to you. Can you, @Isry ?
