emaniscool35:

-4x + 16 = -24

WendyMorales2007:

how can i help?

supie:

Do you want us to solve it?

XxDeadxX:

Seems already got the answer

CocoCammron:

yeah its kinda pointless if you have an answer

Kyky232:

Are you solving for x?

emaniscool35:

thats not the answer

emaniscool35:

and yes

Kyky232:

Okay, so you'd subtract 16 from both sides. After you've done that, you need to divide -4 from both sides. Do you know how to divide a negative?

supie:

\[−4x+16=−24\] -16 from both sides \[−4x+16−16=−24−16\]\[−4x=−40\] ÷4 both sides \[−4x/−4=-40/-4\] So, \[x=10\]

emaniscool35:

Thank you kyky and supie

Kyky232:

I was trying to let them do the work but walk them through it, Supie...
