Jaydybird:

why is it important to be able to amend the constitution?

dude:

As the Constitution is so old, you'll have a lot of outdated stuff on it. As America keeps growing and new issues arrive, you'll eventually need to come up with rules for each new situation. You want to have the ability to edit something to fit the current issues, otherwise we'd rely on standards centuries old. Friendly reminder that this is written in my own words. Do not copy and use my words directly in your assignment. Khan Academy's website can help you understand this clearer: https://www.khanacademy.org/humanities/us-government-and-civics/us-gov-foundations/us-gov-ratification-of-the-us-constitution/a/article-v-and-the-amendment-process
