A package of 8 pens costs $1.09. Milo’s work to find the unit price of the pack is shown below. StartFraction 8 pens Over 1 dollar and 9 cents EndFraction = StartFraction question mark Over 1 dollar EndFraction. Question mark = StartFraction 8 Over 1 dollar and 9 cents EndFraction. Question mark = 7 dollars and 34 cents. Where did Milo make his first error? He assumed the pens are equally priced. He wrote the unit rate incorrectly. He made a place value error when dividing. He multiplied instead of dividing.
I believe it's the first option. The pins could be at different prices depending on what brand you get and if you get it in ballpoint or fine point
ok confusing but ok
I'll try a different way. What are some things you like to get from the store?
marker
Okay, do you notice how different marker brands/styles have different prices?
yeah
Okay, so I was thinking the same thing goes for the pins in this equation/problem. The pins could be a different brand/style so they're differnt priced
