The image below is a poster made during World War I: Poster from World War I encouraging people to buy war bonds. The illustration shows a gladiator type fighter with U.S. flag sword raised and a Liberty Loan bonds shield. He is defeating sinister looking figures labeled War, Devastation, Starvation, and Death. Public Domain Based on this poster, what conclusion can be made about the U.S. government during World War I? It wanted to boycott trade with enemy nations. It wanted to provide low-cost loans to its allies. It was not able to fully finance the war effort through taxes.
