It hasn't worked, because people are naturally selfish. If we lived in an ideal society then the lockdowns would have worked perfectly. Masks work for the same reason that you cover your face when you sneeze. Less particles are going to escape into the air if you wear a mask. Social distancing is a copout because people are too selfish. It works decently well, but really it's just to give people the option to go outside.

American society is a product of the American dream and ironically it's the very thing that is killing the country. Look at politics if you want an example of this. Look at flat earth for example. Hate to intervene, but, Layla, the doctors don't just kill people.
I have had numerous people in my family who have tested positive for Covid, yet they are healthy now...

They want you to go to the hospital because the people who have had Covid, they had the cough and other signs you mentioned above. So, yes, you may have a cold, but it is just a safety precaution to go to the hospital. I had a cold a few months back, with many signs of Covid, so they asked if I could get tested....It's not them killing people. It's public health and safety.

To get to the point, I think that if we follow lockdown and social distancing rules, it will work actually. If we are in lockdown, then the airborne virus that Brycen has mentioned, it will eventually die out, as Isry said.
For the masks, they are "open on the side" yeah but again, as Isry said, they're not meant to keep you 100% safe. They are to help stop the spread of the disease. Same with social distancing....if we all social distance, we do not come into contact with one another, which helps with the prevention of spreading germs.
If we would listen to the things we are being asked to do, Covid would not be as serious as it is today.
You can have your beliefs, but I'm just saying. As Layla said, the media controls things. Certain sites will have different claims. For all we know Layla, the source you have read could be a lie....
Please pay attention to the media you look out. The masks and social distancing have actually helped, it's just a matter of if the people will stop being so selfish and realize that these rules are to help, not harm.
