How does power distribute according to the power elite model? A. Power distributes among a few groups. B. Power distributes among a few political parties. C. Power distributes among a few influential people. D. Power distributes among a few intelligent people.

darkknight:

Alright, the definition of a power elite model from Wikipedia "According to Mills, the eponymous "power elite" are those that occupy the dominant positions, in the dominant institutions (military, economic and political) of a dominant country, and their decisions (or lack of decisions) have enormous consequences, not only for the U.S. population but, "the underlying populations of ..." So it seems to be more than just a few political people, or intelligent people. so Therefore I would put power distributes among a few groups

Timmyspu:

so what do you know is not the right answer

darkknight:

Anyone want to confirm?

Timmyspu:

@darkknight is right

Ashoka:

I also agree, because according to that article it says" "power elite" are those that occupy the dominant positions, in the dominant institutions (military, economic and political)" It specifically references and says its more than just political, so it can't be B and A is very broad so it has the most chance

darkknight:

Also this should be in history, please pick the correct subject next time

darkknight:

@umm change subjects?

Maleeyahunter2004:

I also agree thank you guys so much.

Maleeyahunter2004:

That answer wasn't right

darkknight:

hmm... if that answer wasn't right, what are your thoughts on this, surely you learned something about this right? Because I just searched up what the power elite model was, if that wikepedia site was wrong, you should have pointed it out :/

Maleeyahunter2004:

I mean I think that it deals with Intelligent people.

darkknight:

And how come that answer isn't right? Thats weird, because a few groups incorporates the other answer choices al well, for example in math 2 is a whole number and more broadly, a rational number, it won't be wrong to classify it as a rational number would it?

darkknight:

@isry he better at history, he might be able to help

Maleeyahunter2004:

Intelligent people wasn't right either.

darkknight:

Well, idk why you picked that one. That is the most obvious incorrect answer it seems a bit out of context because in a model of power elite, intelligent people don't usually have power (just in general). Most common cases of power are economic, political, social, reasons. B is political and C is Social.

darkknight:

I would now go for B, but I ain't very sure

Maleeyahunter2004:

Okay I'll try that. Thank you so much for your help.

Isry:

It has to do with the people in power being elite. So because the very definition of elite is very few people we can safely assume that the answer will be c. This is because the power would be influence and the few would be elite.

Maleeyahunter2004:

thanks
