We know a couple of things like : Louis Pasteur widely disproved spontaneous generation

I cant give you much, or else it would be Direct answering, so here is a start, and try searching Pasteur's Experiment on Google to get some more idea. Pasteur's experiment involved flasks and it disapproved the idea. Instead micro-organisms are present in the air and the idea of live coming from air or water was disapproved.
