What are your guys thoughts of the series of evolution, as of the fact of chimps turning into humans?

Tbh, I haven't done a lot of research on it recently, but I think we evolved alongside chimps instead of being directly from them, if that makes sense? I think we just share a common ancestor but I'm not entirely sure
