Gucchi:

A group of people gathers in a busy city area to hold a protest. The police force them to leave because they are blocking traffic. The leader of the group says the police have no right to stop them, that they have the right to assembly. The police ask the leader to see the group's permit from the city, but the group doesn't have one. Based on the scenario, which statement is true? The group has a right to form a protest, but the city has the right to prevent any assembly if the leaders do not like its goals. The group has the right to assembly, but the city has the right to enforce rules to protect public safety during an assembly. The group has an unlimited right to assembly, and the police should leave the group alone or protect it from traffic. The group has no right to organize a protest, and the police should arrest all the members for refusing to leave.

Gucchi:

i think its the second one

Gucchi:

@mxddi3 can you help?

Hoodmemes:

Well due to the first amendment that protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. But blocking traffic is illegal in all states and police can take action for u breaking that law With that being said answer option D would be incorrect also C that would leave answer options B and A which do u think is correct and why?

mxddi3:

ok so you can eliminate option D because the first amendment includes the right to peacefully assemble. now we can also get rid of option C because of the second portion of it just doesnt fit. so then with tht, can you tell me why you think it's B?

Gucchi:

I picked b because the city does have the right to enforce rules and it makes the most sense to me

mxddi3:

yeah. blocking traffic is illegal and cities have the right to require a permit in this situation, seeing as it is having an impact on a public place. So yes, you are correct, it is going to be option B :)

Gucchi:

Alr, thank you!

Gucchi:

According to the Declaration of Independence, what is the basic purpose of government? To control people and prevent rebellion To protect the natural rights of people To honor and respect the monarchy To raise taxes to support the military @mxddi3 this is b right?

mxddi3:

yes, i'd agree with B

Gucchi:

I picked this because without the rights of people then, we wouldn't have a stabilized government.

mxddi3:

while under the king, the rights of the people were not being protected, which was a big issue and reason as to why they wanted their independence. It is evident that it is important seeing as they felt there must be a Bill of Rights in our Constitution before it got ratified : )

Gucchi:

yh ill write that down
