I mean there was these God that the Greeks worshiped and they hosted the Olympic Games to honor those gods or to be more exact one god named Zeus the king of all gods.


Greeks participated in the Olympic games,and bringing stuff to i guess "Please" the gods/show there gratitude.Another reason is that they hosted it to bring all the ppl of Greece together in peace (Like bringing all ppl of there lil state together)/compete against each other to win in a multi challenge competition.


Us the people of today participate/host the Olympic Games to every 4 years to bring all ppl of the world together in peace,but also multi-sport where ppl all over the world can compete against eachother to win a prize.



Basically the Olympic Games is important due to the fact it brings all ppl of the world together in peace etc.
