hymnplayer:

"Is my team ploughing That I used to drive And hear the harness jingle When I was man alive?" Ay, the horses trample, The harness jingles now; No change though you lie under The land you used to plough.

hymnplayer:

Paraphrase the verses to show that you understand their literal meaning.

hymnplayer:

I don't understand it at all

Downpour17:

Well What do you not understand? Let's start there

hymnplayer:

I don't understand the theme of the poem. I know that it is about this dude who used to plow the field w/his horse, and now hes dead...

Downpour17:

The theme of the poem what the author is trying to convey. What do you think the author is trying to express here?

hymnplayer:

I have no idea, he wnat's to know if his team is still plowing?

hymnplayer:

*wants

Downpour17:

To me what the author is trying to say is that the horse and his team meant a lot to him. This is why he would talk so much about the horse. As for his team, He talks about them plowing. This can mean they're still plowing on to fight for victory. Which is a very noble thing to do.

hymnplayer:

k, thanks...

Downpour17:

Hope this helped you. Sorry if it didn't

hymnplayer:

it did

Downpour17:

good to know :) Have a nice day!
