help given the 5th term is 103 and the common difference is -6, answer the following questions. (4-6) 6. What is the explicit function of this sequence?
@Convert can you help me, please?
So given that 103 is the 5th term in this sequence and the common difference between each of the numbers is -6 than to find the 1st term of the sequence we multiply that by 5 and get -30 and because you would be going backward it'd be positive 30 and you add that to 103 and get 133 as the 1st term in your sequence. Using this information and A+B(n-1) as A = the first term and B=common difference we plug it into the equation: 133+(-6)(n-1) 133-6(n-1) 133-6(n) + (-6)*-1 133-6n+6 133+6-6n 139-6n -6n+139 is what I would think it'd be but if I'm wrong please let me know I haven't done this for a while and I'm still a bit rusty.
thank you
