Which of the following statements about appellate courts is accurate? They are trying to determine whether some party is “guilty” or “not guilty.” They are not permitted by the Constitution to have any say whatsoever in a criminal case. Their responsibility is to decide if the laws and our system of justice followed the Constitution in a particular case. They almost never make any decisions about cases because the Supreme Court usually reviews almost all legal disputes and appeals from our Federal and State Courts.
