What are we trying to find?
i dont know
Then is there answers or more to the question to base my answer off of?
no
Then in what form do you submit your answer?
what do you mean
How do you type in or select your answer lol
you type it in
But what's the question?
that's all the question
But that just gives you 2 equations and a point there could be a lot of stuff in Algebra you could find with that information.
What have you last learned about in that class which you think would pertain to this question? So I know how to help/explain the answer to you.
we haven't learned about any of this yet
Then is this a pre-test or something?
no it is an assignment
Then if you haven't learned it in that class yet how does your teacher expect you to complete it?
idk
Is there a name to this assignment?
no it just says week 17 assignment
Well it says question 2. What was question 1 about?
This is basically the same thing as question 2 formula wise. How did you solve this problem if you weren't able to solve question 2?
I did not solve it
Well I'm sorry but I can't help you with it if I don't know what the question is asking.
thank you anyway
No problem, even though I really didn't do anything-

so my opinion that there is a system of equations what you need to solve it
x +y = 9 x + 1/3 y = 5 i think you can using substitution or elimination method what you prefer
so it would be x=9−y x=5−y/3
yes this true and correct for the first step but you need calcule the x value and the y value
y=9−x y=−3(x−5)
true but in this way not will solve nothing so above you ve got for x x = 9 - y x = 5 - y/3 yes ? so and now to solve this what can you do ? in one way there is x = 9 - y and in the second way there is x = 5 - y/3 so you can make x = x bc. this need be true - yes ? please write these two expressions of x equal and in this way you can calcule the y value
please continue ...
y=9−x y=15
no i ve said than you write x = x using these expressions you get 9 - y = 5 - y/3 from what you can calcule easy the y value
bc, there is a fraction with denominator what you need to do like a first step ?
multiplie both sides by 3 and so in this way what will get ?
27,15
3(9 - y ) = 3(5 -y/3)
distribute the parentheses
y=6
please post your work here for i can check it
ok correct
so you know that y = 6 and now you need calcule the x value
in the first equation than you substitute the y value in place of y what you get for x ?
there is x = 9 -y
so if you write in place of y the 6 what will get for x ?
are you there ?
so 6=y ?
yes this you know but now you need calcule the x value
x = 9 - y what you get for x than substitute in place of y the 6 ?
x = 9 - 6 x = ?
x=3
perfect
so x = 3 y = 6
that's ALL
thank you
anytime yw
