Tom, Lisa, and Jane are competing in a cooking competition. They all used different amounts of sugar from a can containing 4 pounds of sugar. • Tom used 13% of the total sugar in the can. • Lisa used 0.6 pound of the total sugar in the can. • Jane used 0.12 of the total sugar in the can. Who used the greatest amount of sugar from the can? Show your work and explain your answer in words.
so like a first step you need to know what mean this 13% like decimal expressed
ok so 13% = 13/100 = ?
in decimal form how you write this ?
@Laylalyssa do you can explain it pls more understandably ?
idk other way - sorry
bc. i think this is the easy-st way what i ve wrote above
ok
I think Lisa used the most Tom only used 0.52 bc 0.13x4=0.52 and Lisa used 2.4 bc 0.6x4= 2.4 And Jane used 0.48 bc 0.12x4= 0.48 I think therefore Lisa used the most right?
yes bc. than you rewrite them all in decimal form you get Lisa used 0,6 pound so this is 0,60 pounds from total Tom used 13% so 0,13 pounds from total Jane used 0,12 pound from total from these all 0,60 is the greatest
@Laylalyssa good job
