Ive had adhd for years and my mother didnt want to acknowledge that i had it as a young child. she said that she didnt want to think that i had it because i was really smart. so she dissed the thought . Only when in middle school, when i was having a hard time, she decided to go to the doctor to see if i had it and to get medication. She also only though ADHD was only a lack of focus from the person. until an incident that happened 2018 thanksgiving break, she decided to research more on it. She found out there were more to adhd than the lack of focus. Like rly? it took her over 10 years to acknowledge i have it and that my brain works in a different way. its kinda pathetic.
