@dude @darkknight @supie

darkknight:

first box is probablility they order pizza, which is 18 people ordered pizza out of 22 or the probability for ordering pizza is 18/22

darkknight:

10 order a salad, so 10/22 is the probability for that (box 2)

darkknight:

now it also says that 8 order a pizza or a salad so the 3rd box u put 8/22 in the answer for probability (remember to simplify)

Timmyspu:

Ok,what about the forth one?

darkknight:

for the last one, it is asking for either A or B. Think about it, the probability has to be at least 18, because if a customer orders a pizza or a salad then 18 ordered pizza so at least 18 have to have ordered one or the other. so my thoughts on the 4th box is it has to be between 18 and 22, hmm i think i need to think ab this more but what do u think for the 4th box?

Timmyspu:

I dont really know this is new to me.

darkknight:

what math is this?

Timmyspu:

probability and statistics

darkknight:

you should look over here, its a bit confusing but it gives a general idea https://mathbitsnotebook.com/Algebra2/Probability/PBAndOr.html see if you can get your answer if your still stuck i can help

Timmyspu:

Ok thanks dark

darkknight:

specifically look at the or section

Timmyspu:

Ok

darkknight:

uhh im being dumb, the only 2 answer choices are pizza and salad, if 8 people ordered both then 22-8 or 14 people ordered one of them, so for the 4th box u put 14/22

Timmyspu:

Ok

Timmyspu:

I got the answer thanks.
