To start, this triangle is obviously not a right triangle or 90 degrees for the corner angle because all angles of a triangle add up to 180. 180- (60 + 25) doesn't equal 90

ramen:

We can eliminate a and b

XioGonz:

So it is D?

ramen:

I agree with your answer. It isn't d because it's not an acute angle.

XioGonz:

Ohh, okay. Thank you!

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @XioGonz So it is D? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Read the wording carefully. Notice how it says \(\overset{\leftrightarrow}{BC} \ \underline{\textbf{is}} \text{ a tangent line}\)

jimthompson5910:

Tangent lines are perpendicular to the radius, so if you can show angle ABC is 90 degrees, then you have a tangent line Note how for triangle ABC, we can say A+B+C = 180 25+B+60 = 180 Solve for angle B. If you get 90, then angle ABC is 90 degrees and we have a tangent
