Usually, poachers poach animals because they want to have something from the animal (such as: Horns or fur) Which they sell or use in their house. They don't understand what they are doing. They are not intelligent in some ways, but in some ways they are smart. Especially if they were in poverty. Sometimes it could be a fight or flight instinct.

they poach for the money the animals carry for example the rhinos horn is the same thing our hair and nails are made out of and use that in the black market along with elephant tusk....they need the animals for a job and so they have money...

THey usally poach them to sell the parts like skin or other stuff
