I need help on contructing a box - and- whisker plot.
29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 37, 38, 39, 40, 42, 42, 51, 51, 53, 54.

There are 18 ages, listed from least to greatest

The median, therefore, is the average of the 9th and 10th number. This number becomes the middle of the box plot

Now, look at the set below the median (do not include the median). Find the median of that set. Since we have an odd number this time, it'll be the exact middle # (in this case, 5th from the left). This is your Q1.

Now, look at the set above the median (do not include the median.) Find the median of that set. Again, it will be the 5th number from the left of the set. This is your Q3.

Now, identify your minimum and maximum (least and greatest # of the whole set)

Finally, you have all five numbers for your box plot.
