What differences do you think there are between conducting a choir or orchestra? *
chiors are voices and orchestras are instruments I might be wrong but I do believe the hand motions are different
choir is singing i think
IM SMART
I don't have conducting experience but I've been in both orchestra and choir so I'll write from personal experience for orchestras, there's a lot more technical aspects a conductor would have to learn in order to give specific instructions on how to improve technique and performance, since there's so many different instruments involved in a typical orchestra. it's also much harder to synchronize instruments than voices. that being said, there's also many factors that a choral conductor would have to consider that an orchestral conductor wouldn't, like how to stagger breathing, how to pronounce words. I'll drop some references so you can read what actual conductors have to say on the subject http://evanstonsymphony.org/content/behind-scenes-difference-between-choral-and-orchestral-conducting https://journals.openedition.org/signata/1126?lang=en#tocto2n3 (this one is very long but you can try jumping to the relevant sections)
