Ashley29:

Explain the difference between iconography and iconology.

Convert:

Iconography: "the visual images and symbols used in a work of art or the study or interpretation of these." Iconology: "the study of visual imagery and its symbolism and interpretation, especially in social or political terms."

Timmyspu:

Hopfully this helps: Originally iconography referred to the description and classification of religious or artistic objects/images, while iconology referred to the interpretation of their meanings, but these two terms now tend to be used interchangeably or as closely interwoven.

thx yall
