ik this is easy but like i'm stoopid so- ;-;
To find the rate of change you have to find out how the variables are manipulated each time until you have a consistency.
so like- um idk i'm still confuzzled ;-;
R=Y/X R being the rate of change. Y being the change in Y X being the change in X
Need me to explain it a little more or do you think you have it?
ok ik the rate of change is the slope- so could do i have to subtract the variables to find my rate?
Yeah lol so like for the x side we have -5, -2, 1, 4, and 7 and we see that it goes up by +3 each time so we just do the same for y until we find out how much it changes and then divide how much y changes by how much x changes to find our rate of change.

Well functions are things that are able to have a rate of change that is the same in each variable from x to x or y to y. Linear equations are the same thing but from x to y.
