Sara and I were at the park on a sunny August day. " Let's go!" she begged, "The roller coaster is not scary, it's fun!" I do not like going on roller coasters, they are so big and scary! As I was taking the last bit of blue cotton candy I said with my blue-stained lips" I am not going!!!" After a lot of persuading, I finally gave in on one condition. Sara had to get my dip and dots! I love the cream and cold small balls that have so much flavor, they just flood into your mouth. Not only was I nervous about my outfit getting dirty. I have no idea who and what has been on that ride, not only do people toss their cookies, but who knows how well they clean that up! That day I was wearing a navy blue romper with shoulder cuts, and tight around the waist. Also, I had cute white sandals and white sunglasses. Half of my shiny blond hair was up in a bun and the other half was down and nicely curled. I did NOT want to get it dirty!!! "I'm ready!", I yelled, " let's get this over with!" As we walked up and waited in line Sara explained, " Every since my birthday I wanted to come here, and mom and dad only pay for tickets to the park if it is a birthday gift, I am so happy you decided to come along, you are going to love it I promise!" I doubt that! Sara is 12 and I am 11, her birthday was in July and she has been waiting for over a month! and my palms started to get sweaty and my heart raced faster the closer we got to the ride! Do I really want to do this? Maybe I shouldn't? I could leave now! Yes, that is what I'll do! But wait, Sara has been wanting to do this for so long! I can't let her down! What if I like it, maybe it will be fun??? So many thoughts were swirling through my head! There was one person in front of us! And then there wasn't! It's our turn! Sara gave me a huge smile, she believed in me! I CAN DO THIS!! I climb into the cart and put the seat belt on! It's time! My heart was going a thousand miles and my mind was filled with worries. As the cart began to move I was silently screaming! Then we are going up the hill and I am getting a stomach ache! Then WOOSH, the wind blows my hair in the air and my hands flow up! It's FUN! This is FUN!!! All my worry glides away and I have the time of my life! It's amazing!! Now I know all the possibilities when I try something new!! The ride comes to a jerking stop. I am frozen. "How was it?" Sara asks eagerly. My only response is " When can we go again!?"
