LadyRavyRay:

−0.65p − 7 = 0.35p

LadyRavyRay:

I got the answer: p = -7

supie:

I agree.

MiraAngel:

−0.65p − 7 = 0.35p add 0.65p on both sides -7=1p divide 1 on both sides -7=p You are correct! Great job! ^-^

supie:

\(−0.65p−7=0.35p\) So the first thing you would do is subtract `0.35p` from both sides which I believe would equal \(−p−7=0\) because \(−0.65p−7−0.35p=0.35p−0.35p=−p−7=0\) So then we +7 to both sides of the equation( \(−p−7=0\) ) which equals \(−p=7\) \( (−p−7+7=0+7\longrightarrow −p=7 \) so then ÷(-1) to both sides of the equation \(\LARGE\frac{-p}{-1}=\frac{7}{-1}\) -p/-1 cancels so all you have left is \(\frac{7}{-1}\) so when you simplify that you get −7 so \(\frac{7}{-1}=-7\) \(p=−7\)
