leahlloyd:

8x5x6-2x5-11=

Angle:

Hello @leahlloyd ! Your problem looks like an Order of Operations problem have you learned about the Order of Operations yet?

Angle:

In the United States, the Order of Operations are taught as: PEMDAS Parentheses Exponents Multiplication - Division (left to right) Addition - Subtraction (left to right)

Angle:

In this problem, I don't really see any parentheses so we should try doing the multiplication parts of the problem first

Angle:

Let's do this left to right what is 8x5 = ?

Angle:

@leahlloyd let's try your math problem step by step what is 8 x 5 = ?

CripQUEZZ:

Ok so first multiply 8 x 5 x 5 x 6 Which equals 8 x 5 x 5 x 6 = 1200 So then your left with 1200 - 2 - 11 Now jus simplify 1200 - 2 = 1198 Then 1198 - 11 = 1187 So it equals 1187

Angle:

@CripQUEZZ Your answer is incorrect.

crackhead17:

yea dats what i got

Angle:

I suggesting waiting for a response from the original question-asker instead of leading them through the entire problem in one breath. The interaction step-by-step helps build understanding rather than feeding them the answer.

CripQUEZZ:

Ok lemme try that again First set it up like this (8 × 5 × 6) (-2 × 5)- 11 = ? So simplify he parentheses first (8 x 5 x 6) = 240 Then the next parentheses ( -2 x 5) = -10 So now it’s 240 - 10 - 11 = ? Then solve 240 - 10 = 230 And then 230 - 11 = 219 So your answer is 219

CripQUEZZ:

@Angle is that better?

Angle:

It is correct but you have completely ignored my previous comment.
