notGenna:

Triangle ABC is dilated using the rule (x,y)-->(1/2x, 1/2y) to create Triangle A’B’C’. The measure of angle C is 42 degrees. What is the new measure of Angle C'? Select one: a. 50 degrees b. 21 degrees c. 42 degrees d. 84 degrees

jimthompson5910:

Dilations preserve the angle measures. In other words, the angles won't change. The size changes (it gets bigger or smaller) but the shape doesn't change.

notGenna:

so basically if it stays the same the answer would be C ?

jimthompson5910:

Correct. The answer is 42 degrees.
