pretty sure u dont do this
f(x) = x^2 +7x -24
g(x) = -3x -40
set equal to each other
\[x^2+7x-24=-3x-40\]
then solve for 0
\[x^2+10x+16=0\]
solve for the roots

ok i understand but how you can solve a system of equation ? using elimination or/and substitution method - i ve learn in these ways more years ago
