that's my bad we wanted the distance between the two numbers then divide by 2 so 15 - 1 then divide by 2 sorry

You can also use a longer method 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 and cross off numbers from both sides until you get to the middle

and yes 7 is the speed of the boat. that is because the current is a specific speed - it is subtracting or adding to the original speed by the same amount so 7 - 6 = 1 and 7 + 6 =15 so the speed of the river is 6 while the speed of the boat is 7
