A gas-powered toy car was marked up 150% from an original cost of $464. Last Friday, Jackie bought the gas-powered toy car and paid an additional 10% in sales tax. What was her total cost?

150% markup off 464 remember that % means "per 100" so 150% means "150 per 100" or (150/100) multiply the original price by (150/100) to get the marked up price from there, calculate 10% of the marked up price, or (10/100) * markup price. this is the sales tax. add this back onto the marked up price to get the final price.
