Which of the following ordered pairs represents the solution to the system given below? (4 points) x − 4y = 7 5x + 9y = 6 (3, −1) (3, 1) (1, −3) (−1, −3)
Do you know how to solve a system of equations?
need help
We're trying to solve for x and y. When we have two variables (x and y) , we need two equations to solve it. There's three ways we can solve it and find the solution that works for both equations 1. Substitution 2. Elimination 3. Graphing Graphing it and finding where the lines intersect is the fastest and easy way to solve it, but I would only advise this method once you understand and are comfortable with solving it through the elimination or substitution method. Do you understand so far?
@zackariahharriett Are you familiar with any of the methods I mentioned?
Well, I'm still here if you need help. I may go and view other posts while waiting for your response but I haven't left per se.
i got it it it was 3 , -1
(3, -1) is indeed the solution to the system of equations.
