Ron knew he and Mark had a long history of disagreeing on many unimportant things. Ron knew he would soon be seeing Mark, even though they were in different schools. Ron knew his choice would give Mark another reason to pester and tease him. Ron knew his friends would understand his talk with Mark wasn't meant to make anyone angry.
