What is the area of the actual bathroom in square feet? Round your answer to the nearest whole number. (5 points) 7 ft2 19 ft2 12 ft2 140 ft2

skrtkobainn:

can someone help me with this

DumbFounded:

2 by 3.5 is the area for the model.

DumbFounded:

right?

skrtkobainn:

idk

Angle:

The scale factor is 20 to get the new side lengths we do the same as before 2 times 20 3.5 times 20

Angle:

we have to be careful here because the the math I just wrote would get us inches and the question is asking for feet

skrtkobainn:

i got 40 and 70

Angle:

awesome! do you know how to convert those numbers to feet? we divide by 12 for both of those numbers

skrtkobainn:

i got 0.3 and 5.83

Angle:

40 \(\div\) 12 = ?

Angle:

70 \(\div\) 12 = ?

skrtkobainn:

3

skrtkobainn:

5.8

Angle:

ohh I see, it was probably a typo - I misunderstood for a sec there ok so we have 3.333 and 5.833 what do we get if we multiply those two numbers?

skrtkobainn:

19.441389

skrtkobainn:

so 19 is the answer

Angle:

fantastic! you're right :)
